The Performance

The Disneyland Band celebrates the American Band, sharing with second graders popular music from our nation's history. The conductor introduces each instrument that makes up the band, while musicians demonstrate the various sounds they create. Students also participate in the performance by joining in a very large choir-the entire audience-conducted by Mickey Mouse himself, to sing It's a Small World. Mickey Mouse's friends, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy stop by to contribute to the discussion on band music. This production is as educational as it is enjoyable!

	PDW at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts A guest artist from the Disneyland Band will highlight the history of marching band music and that of the Disneyland Band. A professional music educator will coach teachers in hands-on activities ranging from the science of sound and instrument making, to the creation of circus characters that match the sound of an instrument. The room will be divided in sections allowing participants to select the activities that are best suited to their needs. A written curriculum guide will be distributed to facilitate implementation of activities in the classroom.
